Cambodia - Siem Reap(Angkor Wat)

Updated: Aug 30, 2022

Traveling to Cambodia and specifically to Siem Reap. It all started to admire the largest temple in the world, the angkor wat (the temple that was filmed and the first Tomp raider for cinephiles) and we combined it with a trip to Thailand. We found cheap tickets with Thai smile from Bangkok and stayed 3 days in Siem Reap where to admire the temple we would need 2 days. The entrance to the temple is made only with state-approved guides which you will find on the official website of the temple or during your stay in the city. We had booked the tour from the following page https://guideyourtrip.com/.../tour.../cambodia/saomony-pheng where the whole tour was amazing and included our transfer to and from the hotel. It is a temple that was started by the Khmer in the 12th century and was hidden in the jungle for years. Don't forget mosquito spray camera together and travel back in time! The town of Seam reap has a modern character with plenty of western-style restaurants and bars for morning entertainment. The hotels are very economical and modern, we stayed at Hotel Somadevi Angkor Boutique & Resort. Unfortunately we did not have time on our trip to see the capital Phnom Penh where we would definitely better experience the culture of the people since the seam reap is quite touristy! You will find air connections with many SE Asian countries but cheaper with Thailand and Vietnam.
